2026 Scholarship Application Information

Who Is Eligible to Apply?

The Fairmont Dollars for Scholars scholarship program is open to:

  • Fairmont Area High School seniors, and

  • Graduates of Fairmont Area High School

Graduates may receive scholarship support for up to four (4) years of post-secondary education. These four years may be used toward:

  • Undergraduate programs (2-year or 4-year degrees), and/or

  • Graduate-level programs

Students must apply each year they wish to be considered.

How to Apply

Our scholarship application process is completed entirely online.

Step 1: Create or Update Your Student Profile

Students only need to create a profile once. Each year after that, simply log in and update your information - do not create a new profile.

Please review and update the following information annually:

  • FAFSA information (Student Aid Index - SAI)
    While submitting FAFSA information is not required, it is strongly recommended if you wish to be considered for need-based scholarships.

  • GPA

  • Current transcript

  • Reference

  • Activities and work experience

  • Goals and aspirations

Tip: The more thoughtful and detailed your "Goals and Aspirations" section is, the stronger your application will be.

Step 2: Submit Your Application

After updating your profile, you must click "My Scholarships" to apply.

Creating or updating your profile is NOT the same as applying for scholarships.
You must complete the "My Scholarships" step in order to be considered.

Important: Even if you have already applied, we strongly recommend that you return to "My Scholarships" and search for available scholarships again before the April 1 deadline. New scholarships may be added during the application window, and you must manually apply to any newly available opportunities.  

Application Timeline

  • Application Opens: January 1, 2026

  • Application Deadline: April 1, 2026 (11:59 PM)

  • Award Notifications: By early May 2026

Late applications cannot be accepted.
